MAKSIM TATAEV - EXPOSURE EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE
I am greatly inspired by Renaissance sculptures and the Soviet modernism and constructivism in architecture. In my photographic works, I express the interweaving of two contrasting images. To me, dancing bodies are like brushes with which I paint my thoughts, and the background serves as the canvas. I create strict lines using human proportions against a delicate backdrop. Alternatively, I employ a commanding geometric backdrop with serene yoga poses. Each of my works carries a profound meaning and my personal experiences, which I would like to share with you.
BIOGRAPHY
Maksim Tataev Yurievich, but my friends call me Max. I am from Saint Petersburg. I grew up in a family of artists. My mother was a painter and my father was an interior designer. I also have an art background. I am a sculptor. The first time I tried a camera was in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the shooting process. Now, by 32 years old, I have tried many directions in photography and came to the conclusion that it was time for me to create my own.
