Now accepting local and international online exhibition listings!

The annual Exposure Photography Festival presents exhibitions that celebrate the medium of photography. The festival brings together a vibrant network of practicing photographers, visual artists and engaged audiences who continue to enhance the discourse in photography.

Our exhibition programme showcases the best contemporary and historic work from established, mid-career, emerging photographers and visual artists from Alberta and around the world! Last year the festival received over 850,000 visits to its exhibitions from Exposure audience members in Calgary, Canada, the US, Europe and beyond! The festival brings together people of all ages to celebrate Alberta’s rich photography scene and thriving creative communities.

Listing your exhibition with Exposure allows you — a gallery, DIY space, artist collective, an independent artist, photographer or curator — to become part of our programming. Being a part of Exposure’s programming means that we can promote your exhibition to our online audiences, and we can partner on related events.

Please note that local and international online exhibitions are welcome however your online exhibition must be hosted via your own independent website.

ONLINE AUDIENCE

During Exposure 2020, our social media posts reached 37,007 people on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter throughout the month of February. During the festival period we had 12,550 online users actively engaging with our online materials, that included our website, social media, ISSU, Eventbrite and Mailchimp newsletters. Exposure added 10,376 new audience members during the 2020 festival and we continue to grow our online presence every day.

PARTNER EVENTS

Exposure is looking to actively involve its exhibition partners in a series of online events. This could be, but is not limited to, an online artist talk (pre-recorded or live), panel discussion, or a virtual exhibition tour. We encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas about new initiatives that can be hosted online. As an exhibition partner, Exposure would work with you on hosting your online initiative and share it with our audiences. Please note that it is not necessary to host an online event and an exhibition in order to submit an exhibition listing, however it is an option for those who would like to do so with the support of Exposure.
