Register your exhibition now to be a part of the 2022 Exposure Photography Festival!
The annual Exposure Photography Festival presents exhibitions that celebrate the medium of photography. The festival brings together a vibrant network of practicing photographers, visual artists and engaged audiences who continue to enhance the discourse in photography.
Our exhibition programme showcases the best contemporary and historic work from established, mid-career, emerging photographers and visual artists from Alberta and around the world! Exposure 2021 received 878,355 visits and welcomed audiences local and international, loyal and new. From New Zealand to Mexico, South Korea to Zimbabwe, Uruguay to Hungry, Exposure grew its audience worldwide with members based in 86 different countries engaging with our online exhibitions and events. Exposure 2020 received 859,543 in-person visits to its exhibitions from Exposure’s local and international audience members.
The Exposure Photography Festival and its year-round programming is inclusive and participatory, a collaboration amongst members of the photographic community and the public. The festival brings people together to celebrate, discuss and engage in the medium of photography and contemporary practices. Each year we introduce exciting new programming and international perspectives to our audiences, drawing attention to Calgary and Alberta as the site of an active, growing, creative community in the field of photography.
Registering your exhibition with Exposure allows you — a gallery, arts organisation, DIY space, artist collective, an independent artist, photographer or curator — to become part of our programming and join our celebration of photography. Being a part of Exposure’s programming means that we can promote your exhibition to our audiences, and we can partner on related events. Please note that local and international online exhibitions are welcome however your online exhibition must be hosted via your own independent website and available for Alberta audiences to enjoy during the month of February.

PARTNER EVENTS
Exposure is looking to actively involve its exhibition partners in a series of online events. LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that the Exposure Photography Festival takes place on the traditional Treaty 7 territory of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We would also like to acknowledge that Exposure Photography Festival is situated on land adjacent to where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Moh’kins’tsis”, which we now call the City of Calgary. Finally, we honour and acknowledge all Nations, indigenous and non, who live, work and play in Moh’kins’tsis and help steward this land and honour and celebrate this territory.
