Fantastic Tales, Cathie Aalders-Taylor
Calgary Central Library, Children’s Library
February 1 – February 28
The images in the collection “Fantastical Tales” tell strange, humorous stories about animals and children. Elements of photos from my photo library are merged into a single image to create surreal images. Viewers are encouraged to tell their own creative story.
The images in this collection were created for people to enjoy. In our hectic lives today, sometimes we don’t have time for much joy, and our time is spent focusing on the problems we are dealing with in our work and families. We all need time to relax and engage in joyful moments with friends and family. It is my hope that viewing these images, laughing at their absurdity, and comparing stories with others will fulfill our needs for pure joy, creativity, and emotional well-being.
The Artist, Cathie Aalders-Taylor, will be present within the exhibition to speak about her work and answer any questions from visitors, on February 10 11am-1pm, February 15 11am - 1pm, and February 20 1-4pm.
Open: Mon - Thu: 9:00 - 20:00, Fri: 9:00 - 18:00 & Sat - Sun: 9:00 - 17:00
Access: Location is wheelchair accessible. Exhibition is child friendly.
