MICHELLE GILBERT - EXPOSURE EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE

Fragile Beauty of Transition represents fragility and growth through new perspectives in changing and difficult times. Letting her orchid blossoms dry where they fell, Michelle then photographed them in natural light. The result was a delicate and original tissue paper-like sculpture suspended in time, displaying its beauty in a whole new way. As 2020 has shown, despite so many hardships and losses, there have also been moments of beauty only difficult times can give.

BIOGRAPHY

Previously working and travelling as a stock photographer, Michelle had taken several years off before returning to the art with a new perspective. As a “re-emerging” photographer, Michelle has found solace during this most unique and challenging year of 2020 by returning to her first passion, photography.

For Michelle, it is the feel of subject, the composition, and the emotion an image brings that precedes the technical jargon. Spending the majority of this past year closer to home she has found that the simplest of subjects provide their own type of complexity and beauty.
