Mother Earth - Boreal Beauty
PEACE RIVER ART HUB
February 1 - February 25
"Sharing the wonder doubles the delight."
This celebration of nature in the north features 80 images from the collaborative coffee table book: MOTHER EARTH: Boreal Beauty of the Peace Country - with Flora, Fauna, & Fungi ID (including Latin, French, Beaver, and Cree).
You'll see fabulous photos of bears, bison, beaver, bats, butterflies, blossoms & berries, moose, moss, mushrooms, wildflowers, waterfowl, owls, lynx, cougar, coyotes, and wolves to name a few. Oh, and a piebald moose and spotted Canada Goose, and, of course, chickadees (both boreal and black-capped). To complete this northern Alberta exhibit, there are images of tree planters, pow wow dancers, northern lights, and aerial sights, including the widest waterfall in North America - the Vermilion Chutes.
The selection of canvas wraps and framed prints range in size from 8"x8" to 20"x30" and each piece is available for purchase, as is the 288-page MOTHER EARTH book.
The curator, Sharon Krushel, can be contacted at 780-625-6324 to meet you at the exhibit or to book a viewing outside of the regular ART HUB hours.
Sharon also does Mother Earth presentations for groups upon request in the exhibit space, showing slides, telling stories, and performing live music, including the Celtic song, "Come by the Hills” and Sharon’s original “Song for the Black-capped Chickadee."
Sharon will be leading a winter hike at 1 p.m. on February, 10, and ART HUB will be hosting a Public Reception and Mother Earth presentation entitled “Faith in Spring" on February 10 at 3 p.m. For more information on these events see exposurephotofestival.com/e24events
