Fragility of Nature

"As a longtime photographer I find myself time and again attracted to images offered by nature. I think facing many people during my work, dealing with their problems, leads to my desire to escape into the outdoors. But hiding under my dark cloth, composing a photograph on the ground glass, contemplating the effect of light and shape, I also worry: will nature as we know it still be here for future generations, will nature survive meddling by us humans? A result of my concerns is the title for this exhibition: “Fragility of Nature”
The final outcome is a series of gelatin silver fiber based black and white photographs (prints) exploring nature as I see it. These photographs are taken with a 4” x 5” format film camera, all archivally hand processed by myself, to museum standards."
