Three Sisters Gallery

Chris Wilson, Tyler Jordan, Anita Szabo, and Kelly Schovanek
Exposure 2018

Exhibition dates: February 1 - March 1
Opening reception: February 8, 6 - 7 PM

Four local artists will be exhibiting during the Exposure Photography Festival. Located on the second floor of Elevation Place in the Three Sisters Gallery, we will see a variety of photos depicting our relationship with the landscape in black and white and colour.

Chris Wilson

Chris Wilson is an amateur photographer born and raised in Canmore, Alberta. After attending the University of Lethbridge for New Media Chris spent four months in New Zealand further pursing his passion for landscape photography. Now back in Alberta he is continuing to develop and as a photographer and looking forward to what the future holds.

Tyler B Jordan

Tyler B Jordan is a visual artist interested in dreams, memory, and people’s relationships with the natural environment. Through the use of photography and digital technologies he aims to raise questions about the boundaries between documentation, reality, and perception.

Anita Szabo

Anita Szabo enjoys watching wildlife and nature. The joy she feels witnessing animals at play in their natural habitat is amazing - and to capture some of those moments with her lens is even more rewarding. She loves the outdoors and the diversity that presents itself when the light or the season changes.

Kelly Schovanek

This series of photos depicts 3 distinct but related aspects of human desire for energy.  Though the images were taken years apart, they can be arranged to show a timeline, a process.  Images from the Standing Rock reservation in North Dakota give the viewer an idea of the politics and resistance that comes with the proposal of new oil pipelines.   Images from Slave Lake, Alberta show the construction of a pipeline, and give glimpses into the lifestyle of those that work in the industry. Finally, in images from the oil spill in Sundre, Alberta in 2012, we are shown the environmental damage that is caused when pipelines rupture, and the subsequent cleanup process that follows.
